Announcements (Wednesday, January 16th, 2019)


Mentors and players, the 2019 LHHS Unified Basketball season will be starting soon, please join us. We will be practicing Mondays from 3-4PM every week from Monday February 11th through Monday April 8th in the old gym. There will be a short informational meeting on Monday, January 28th in the ISS room in the ISS room at 2:35 PM. Please contact Mr. Kaye in the ISS room for more information. [S. Kaye]


Support Boy’s Tennis by going to Panda Express on January 25th between 12 and 7. Make sure to pick up a flyer from C104 or a boys tennis Player. [J. Wojcicki]


All girls interested in playing Tennis please come to short informational meeting after school on Thursday at 2:45. If you plan on playing Tennis this year please make plans to be at this short meeting in room J209. [G. Brueckner]


The FCCLA Fashion and Nutrition meeting will be today at 3:00PM in room J133. [D. Martin]


The Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning field will experience growth of 21% during the coming years until 2022. With new technologies creating more efficiency and replacing outdated equipment, skilled workers will be needed. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that the need for welders is expected to grow by 26 percent by 2020. If you are looking for a rewarding career in these technical fields, stop buy the Career Center and sign up to learn more. There will be a presentation on Feb. 13th at 9:00AM. In addition, you will learn about free classes and how you can earn certification through WAVE. [C. George]


Would you like to learn about how the Vikings really lived? How about how the original peppermint stick was made? Travel with the Educational Tour Group the summer of 2020 to the Capitals of Scandinavia. To find out how to travel with us bring your parents to a meeting on Wednesday, January 16th at 6:00PM in the Little Theater. [V. Rose-Johnson]


Reminder- You may NOT have 6 or more hours of detention to attend the Pep Assembly on Friday, January 25th or the Winter Formal on Saturday, January 26th. Please make sure you serve your detention hours prior. [A. Taylor]


If you plan to bring a guest to the Winter Formal on Saturday, January 26th you may stop by the office to pick up a Guest Pass Application. Guest pass Applications are due no later than Friday, January 18ths at 3:30Pm. [A. Taylor]


Attention Spring Athletes, Paperwork is due on January 28th to be guaranteed to start on time. Otherwise please get it in as soon as possible. Tryouts begin on February 4th. [D. Kitchel]
